Location of Route 19 in Kanto.

Route 19 is a water-route and can only be used with Surf or its HM Replacement Item. It connects Fuchsia City to Route 20.

On the beach, there is a trainer which challenges the player to a surfing race. If the player wins, the trainer is rewarded with the HM Replacement Item, the Surfboard.
