Location of Route 2 (Before the Forest) in Kanto.

Route 2 connects Viridian City in the south to Route 2 (After the Forest) in the north, it also contains the gate to Viridian Forest. In the Gate leading to Viridian Forest, a Female Bug Catcher teaches the move Fury Cutter for Pokémon_Dollar200.

Under certain circumstances, a secret path appears in the south-east to reveal the entrance to the Hidden Forest.
